Like her parents and grandparents, Tequiza excelled in both the conformation and performance rings. Quiza finished with two 4 point majors including WB/BOW at the Atlanta Specialty and a BOB over specials from the classes. Specialed only occasionally, Quiza has two specialty AOMs to her credit (Atlanta and Mid Florida). Tequiza had great fun in the Junior Showmanship ring; playing along with Nicholas and Julia Villani, Stephanie Smith, Samantha Smith, Kris Roberts, Nick Coppola and Meg Shattuck to multiple Junior Showman awards.
At 18 months, Tequiza completed her Road Dog title at the Mid Florida Dalmatian Club's DCA-sanctioned Road Trial, making her a second generation Road Dog on both sides! Quiza quickly finished her Novice Agility, Companion Dog and Rally Novice titles with all placements. Quiza finished her CDX title with placements for all three legs; 3rd at DCA 2006 and a 3rd and 1st in local Florida competition.
Qui's visit to Canada was an exciting one - completing her Canadian championship and CD and picking up her first Novice agility leg. Highlights included several BOB's from the classes including a Group II and an all-breed HIGH IN TRIAL on the same day!
Quiza's foray into UKC was a thrill as well. She completed her U-CD and U-AgI titles each in a single weekend. At her second UKC conformation show, Tequiza fulfilled my life-long dream of a breeder/owner handled all-breed BEST IN SHOW! She followed this with a Reserve Best in Show the following day and finished at her next UKC show with another Reserve Best in Show! Second time out as a champion brought another BEST IN SHOW! Tequiza finished out her UKC conformation career with 2 more BIS and a RBIS and ended 2007 as the #1 UKC Dalmatian.
Quiza's life as Veteran was been exciting too. At the 2007 DCA National Specialty, Quiza took 3rd in a surprisingly competitive Veteran's obedience class and a very long hard look in the 7-10 Veteran Bitch class from breeder/judge Sharon Lyons. To close out 2007, Tequiza went HIGH IN TRIAL and won the AWARD OF MERIT at the Mid Florida Dalmatian Club's Friday specialty.
Quiza's contribution in the whelping box cannot be overlooked. Bred to Am/Can/UKC Ch Woodwynd Ghost of Gotha and Tyrodal Kracker Jack (from the UK), her children are specialty winners, breed winners from the classes, road dogs and obedience/agility stars.
What a girl! Quiza retired to live with the Helt family and her nephew Alex (Woodwynd Krug Magnum)
