Linebred on our own sweet Lager, Tonka is one of four from this litter who was shown. He started his career on the tough Florida January circuit and earned his first points and picked up his first major win. He continued his winning ways, ultimately finishing his AKC Championship with FOUR majors including several BOB wins over specials and was Best in Sweepstakes at the December 2010 Mid Florida Dalmatian Club specialty show.
Tonka had a great time at his first DCA National Specialty (2010) winning both the 9-12 month sweepstakes class under breeder/judge Barb Lyons and and the 9-12 month puppy dog class under breeder/judge Jim Hamm. We were especially honored to have Tonka "pulled" for consideration for both Winners Dog and Reserve Winners Dog (not bad for a baby only slightly over 9 months). Tonka "made the cut" in Best of Breed at DCA in 2011 as well.
He finished his UKC Championship in a single weekend with a Group I over ranked AKC Dalmatian champions. His UKC Grand Championship was finished almost as quickly in just two weekend outings. He finished his International Championship with three Best Bred by Exhibitor in Show , two All Breed Best in Show and the Grand Seiger award (best of the weekend's BIS winners). Tonka took a summer 2010 trip to Canada and garnered 5 points including a Best of Breed win over the #3 Dal in Canada.
Dark eye, level topline with a perfect tail set and outstanding angles front and rear, we're proud to have bred this boy and look forward to BIG things with him. Tonka resides near Chicago with Chris & Abby Merz.
